Best gas grill I have owned
Great grill. Even heat/cooking over entire grating area. Excellent heating adjustment, best I've had. Tried Kenmore, Brinkman and Charbroil to name a few over the last few decades. None of them compare to the cooking quality and heating adjustability. The model I got has apparently been phased out and the newer model isn't fully stainless with stainless grates. I'd suggest trying to find this model rather than the newer one. Don't even mess with the others, just go get a Weber

Returned this model. Very disappointed in the Spirit not up the Weber's normal standards. The only heavy duty stainless steel on it was the hood. The side trays were flimsy and would not hold up. Ended up returning and replacing with the Genesis stainless steel model (would highly recommend). Have owned a Weber grill since 2000.

Using this gas grill is easy. The push-button ignition system means you don't have to fuss with flints or matches. The heat distributors / Flavorizer ® bars are made from easy-to-clean steel, either porcelain enameled steel or stainless steel, and are designed to prevent flare-ups. The funneled bottom tray directs grease and cooking juices into a tidy, removable catch pan.

I am always looking for used, restorable, repairable Weber ® propane (LP) and natural gas (NG) grills. Any unwanted Weber ® gas grill that can be salvaged for parts (also the gas fired charcoal Weber ® grill known as the Performer), will be picked up for free and properly re-used, recycled or disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner in accordance with Montgomery County Maryland code.
Maybe you have an old, rarely used, broken, damaged, unwanted or otherwise FUBAR Weber grill and do not know what to do with it. You do not want to put it at the curb.
PLEASE HELP ME keep these classics out of the landfills and incinerators.
Our planet already has enough garbage! In a small way, with your help and donations, I am doing what I can to help. I will re-use, restore, rehab, rebuild, refurbish your used, previously owned Weber ® grill and whatever cannot be rebuilt, I will separate by material types and recycle it, no waste!
I restore and re-home all models of Weber® propane (lp), natural gas, and gas fired kettle grills.
The majority of these grills have been saved from either the landfills or incinerators!
All parts that are not reusable for restorations are segregated by material type and recycled; no waste!
Proceeds from re-homed & re-purposed grills continues my humble efforts to reduce waste and protect the environment.

What goes into each of my restoration:
- First and Foremost: It is a lot of hard work and a passion that is not motivated by money!
- Typically, each grill is disassembled down to the component level.
- Next, all usable items are cleaned, repaired, restored, and then prepared for re-use.
- Then, all non-usable & scrap components are segregated by material type, then recycled.
- The inside of the hood areas are thoroughly cleaned and all possible soot residue is removed.
- Following that I restore the paint finishes, then each unit is prepared for re-assembly.
- All restored and necessary new components are integrated during final assembly.
- Final quality control and safety inspections are performed, along with a "test" run.
- Lastly, archive photos are made and grills are then added to the web site for re-homing.
- I use only OEM* Genuine Weber Replacement Parts - Nothing Aftermarket!
- At minimum, all of my restored grills have:

A. Best I can offer is this: Plan to get dirty. Buy genuine parts. Consult your owners manual.
If you do not have one, Google "weber manuals" . and be sure to have fun!
Q . Where do you buy your parts? Do you sell parts?
A. I buy direct from Weber ® , you can too! Call 1- 800-446-1071 or go to Weber®.com
Q . What do you use to get your grills so clean? Looking like new? etc..
A. Hard work and patience. I also use Simple Green® and Krylon® stove paint. Try Home Depot.
A. Sorry, no. I use all parts for my restoration projects, so I never have enough or any extra.
A. I do not offer this service at the present time, but may consider doing so in the future.
Until then, you can buy one of my restored grills and donate your old Weber to the cause.
Q . Do you take trade-in's? Can I get $ off the grill I buy from you if I donate my old grill?
A. I prefer to keep the 2 transactions separate. On a case-by-case basis I do buy grills, yes, but you are probably better off selling your old grill yourself. This prevents any hurt feelings regarding the value you may hold in your old grill vs. the value it may or may not have to me.
Q . Do you offer a warranty or any guarantees?
A. I am but one man, trying to be Earth conscious. I re-home these grills in order to continue.
I take enormous pride in my craft, I stand by my workmanship, but do not offer warranties.
I have many happy families using my restored grills and have never had one single complaint.
If you have one of my grills and something goes wrong, you know me, you have my number, call.
Q . Do you make service calls? Can you repair my grill for me?
A. I am currently offering in-home service in Montgomery County, Maryland & Upper N.W. Washington D.C.
(other areas may be added later, but for now only on a case-by-case basis)
Q . Can you ship a grill to me outside of the Metropolitan Washington D.C. area?
A. I do not, cannot and will not ship grills, sorry. I am simply not equipped to do so.
Q . What type of vehicle do I need to pick-up a grill from you? Will it fit in my car?
A. When picking up, keep in mind you will need a vehicle large enough to carry a fully
assembled grill. "Most" large and many mid-sized SUV's, full size vans, "most" minivans and of course most all pick-up trucks will work. "Most" cars WILL NOT FIT a fully assembled grill. Once you pay for the grill, you are welcome to disassemble in any way you feel comfortable in order to transport it home. All sales are final and buyer assumes all responsibility upon sale.
Q . Will you pick-up my old, used Weber grill for FREE? Will you pay me for it? How much?
A. I will pick-up and remove for FREE, and in "some" cases pay* cash, for your used Weber grill.
(*I do not offer to pay the same amount, and in most cases much less, than what you what you
can expect to get yourself at a yard sale or on Craigslist. If you are trying to get "the going rate", retail, or perhaps think your grill is a rare or precious jewel, please sell it yourself and save us both time.)
Q . If I donate my Weber grill, can I get a donation receipt for my taxes"?
A. I am merely an environmentally conscious hobbyist. I cannot provide tax documents, sorry.
As I understand it, only a corporation designated a "501(c)(3)" by the IRS can legally do so.

I bought my Restored Weber grill a year ago, it looked brand new. It's now a year old and is already more reliable than the stainless 6 burner I replaced. We use it multiple times each week to feed a family of 4 and are really impressed with it in every way. You cannot go wrong with a Restored Weber!

Well…. grilled my first teriyaki pork roast on the grill today between the rain…worked fantastic…I will have to say it is 1 awesome grill. I love the size…It is perfect.

Weber Ranch Kettle
When you are cooking for a crowd, there are few options better than Weber’s largest charcoal grill offering, the Ranch Kettle. Due to its size and cost, the Ranch kettle is not a mainstream offering and information about this important kettle is somewhat difficult to come by. However, despite its lower sales volume, the Ranch Kettle is a very important model in Weber’s history.
Weber Ranch History: One of Weber’s oldest:
The Weber Ranch Kettle was first introduced in 1953, one year after George Stephen’s famous “Buoy Kettle”. This makes the Ranch and the 22″ kettle Weber’s longest running models. Here is an excerpt from an ad in the the July 13, 1953 Corpus Christi Times:
“Model RB-600 RANCH BAR-B-Q: Incomparable outdoor cooking at its very best. Circular design and large grill area invite everyone to circle ’round and join the fun.”
The 1953 Weber Ranch sat low to the ground on 3 legs and had a “flat top” lid. The bowl of the kettle had 3 vents that allowed airflow to be controlled using vent wheels. As you can see by the picture, one of the features of the early Ranch Kettle was a center cutout of the grilling surface to allow the use of a warming rack, perhaps a precursor to the current Gourmet Grate system? Because of the size of the kettle’s lid and the placement of the two handles necessary to lift it, the top vent was made larger and was placed directly in the center of the lid.
With a 37 ½” kettle diameter and a 36 ½” cooking grate, the Ranch was designed to provide ample grilling space for large cooks. In its 1992 catalog, Weber calls the Ranch “The largest barbecue kettle in the world. An investment and profit earner for clubs and caterers.” To visualize the size of the Ranch, it is best to compare it to some of Weber’s other kettles:

The Ranch History Timeline:
Despite being one of Weber’s longest running models, the Ranch has remained largely unchanged. The timeline for the RK can be broken down into 3 eras:
1953 – 1978 Weber Ranch: Model RB – 600
Ranch kettles in this era consist of two styles. The original ranch with it’s “Flat top”:

Weber kept the same RB – 600 model number despite some significant design changes including the move from a 35 ¾ inch to 37 ½ inch kettle diameter, the transition from stationary legs to the “triangle” with wheels, and the move from a flat top to a curved lid.
1978 – 1991 Weber Ranch: Model 60001
While it is unclear why Weber changed the model number from RB-600 to 60001, one of the noticeable changes at the time was the move from metal to wood in the lid handles. The basic “mothership” kettle shape did not change. By 1988, the handles on the bowl of the kettle had also been changed to wood.
1992 – Present Weber Ranch: Models 60002/60020
1992 marked the biggest change in the Ranch kettle. The traditional Weber triangle consisting of 2 legs with wheels and a stationary front leg was swapped out for a cart design. This change provided 4 important improvements in the Ranch Kettle design:
- It raised the height of the grilling surface to 42″
- It provided a more stable base with 4 legs, two with wheels and two with casters
- It enabled the patented “Tuck-Away” lid holder so that grillers no longer had to set the lid on the ground while tending to their cooks
- A 24″ ash pan was introduced to catch hot embers falling out of the vents.
The three models of Weber’s Ranch Kettle
While there are plenty of large rectangular grills to choose from, the most direct kettle-style competitor to the Weber Ranch was the Whalen King Kettle. The Whalen had a grilling surface that was the same size as the Weber Ranch and sold for approximately half the price. For airflow, the Whalen had 3 small vents on both the bottom and the lid, while the Weber had 3 vents in the bowl and one large one on the lid. In most other aspects, the Whalen was very similar to the Weber, to the point that many consider it a Weber Ranch knock off. It was discontinued in 2005/2006.
When Weber opened its own restaurant, the choice for what type of kettle to use was obvious. The grills used in the Weber Grill are very similar in design to the Ranch Kettle, but constructed of stainless steel with an open bottom to maximize airflow.
The Weber Ranch Kettle is an important part of Weber history. It is tied with the 22″ kettle as Weber’s oldest models still in production, and it is Weber’s biggest kettle. Its singular purpose throughout Weber’s history has been to allow Grillers to cook good food, and lots of it! This part is compatible with the following machines:
2. Removed the side work surface.
3. Screws and bolts had seized over the last 10 years of use. The screw heads had to be ground off with a hand held grinder to remove the flame tube from the kettle.
4. Replaced parts connected the propane supply, pressed the igniter and my grill was good as new.
