We want you to love what you buy! But if you don’t, we offer a simple “No Hassle Returns” policy. We allow you to return all new, unused, unassembled, and resalable items in their original packaging within 45 days of delivery for a refund (minus the original and return shipping costs incurred by BBQGuys.com). Naturally, if your return is because of our error, you are not responsible for any shipping costs.

If your return request is due to product defect or damage, we will first work with you to get the product repaired. If repair is not possible, then we’ll work with you to get it replaced.
If your return will be coming back via freight truck, we will require you to provide us a photo before your return will be authorized. This can be as simple as a cell phone pic! We just need a “before” picture in case there is any damage to the item on its way back to us.
To expedite the returns process, before shipping the item(s) back, make sure they are clean, the packaging is sufficient to prevent damage, and (if necessary) you note all defects along with the photos taken.

Custom made-to-order/special order items are made to your specifications. Due to the custom nature of made-to-order/special order items, all sales are final. Made-to-order/special order items defective due to manufacturing will be repaired/replaced as long as the claim is made within the warranty period offered by the manufacturer. Custom pieces damaged in shipping will still follow all steps for a freight claim as previously listed here. All Custom pieces will be repaired or replaced with an item of the same nature as previously ordered. You will not be allowed to order an item that differs from the damaged or defective item.

In my opinion, Weber is simply the best name in the game when it comes to grilling up meals in a premium fashion. Does that mean that every product of theirs is going to be top notch? Absolutely not– even the Rolling Stones made a few bad albums. The Weber Q 2400 on the other hand, supplies a whole lot of satisfaction.

For an electric grill, the cooking space is premium. 280 square inches is totally manageable, and this grill is built so well that the head spreads completely evenly. Considering this is one of the only major benefits of using an electric grill rather than an outdoor, charcoal one, I was pleased to notice how well this grill did at playing to its natural strengths. Also, compared to a lot of other electric grills I have used in the past, this thing can really crank out the heat.

First Impressions

One thing that keeps some folks away from grilling is the challenge of the whole ordeal. I can understand this, though I don’t happen to find grilling to be particularly complicated… Still, I can appreciate how easy it is to effectively use this grill. It’s dead simple, nothing to it at all… So long as you don’t mind the lack of char-grilled taste, it’s not hard to come up with a precisely cooked slab of meat on this finely built electric machine.

Weber products may be more expensive than others, but it is always a case of paying for quality with brands like Weber. If you have the money, I say go for an electric grill like this. There may be a lot of cheaper products on the market, but it will be hard to find something that delivers like the Weber Q 2400.

Are there any negative features to this grill? To be honest, not really. They advise not to use an extension cord, and the cord attached to the grill is only 6 feet long, so do keep that in mind in the case that it might be an issue for you… For me, that’s not much of a problem, and the pros outweigh the cons on this grill by a massive margin.

Survival Cooking Verdict

In the end, this is a well-built, inventively designed, and totally effective electric grill. There are some dishes that I can cook on this particular grill that taste much better than on the barbecue, just do to the amount of specificity I can use when cooking– it is very easy to control and regulate the temperature.

Weber Q 2400 Electric Grill

Weber-Stephen

Weber-Stephen is one of the oldest and most respected manufacturers of BBQ equipment and related accessories in the world. Weber grills and smokers cook beautifully and have great features that are clever, effective and easy to use. As popularity and demand for BBQ gear grows worldwide, Weber continues to earn their long standing reputation for quality, durability and outstanding customer service and support, (7 days a week from 7am to 9pm CST), in an increasingly competitive environment. Even in this crowded marketplace, many consumers are still willing to pay more for the Weber name and they are rarely disappointed. They make a variety of cookers and smokers. Their iconic black charcoal kettles are known throughout the world. Indeed Weber is expanding globally.

Weber-Stephen was family owned since it was founded in 1952 by George Stephen. At the end of 2010 the Stephen family sold a majority stake to Chicago investment group BDT Capital Partners. In 2012, Weber settled a class action suit out of court regarding their use of the phrase, "Made in USA". Weber previously qualified the "Made in USA" statement by specifying their products are assembled in the USA with some components that are sourced globally. Here is an excerpt from Weber's statement "Weber believes that because all Weber grills and the disputed accessories are designed and engineered in the USA, and all grills save for one line [Spirit]* are manufactured and assembled in the USA using component parts primarily made in the USA, it did nothing wrong and therefore has valid defenses to plaintiff's claims. The court has not held a trial or ruled in favor of either party on any disputed issues. Weber and the plaintiff have agreed to settle the matter to avoid the costs of continued litigation." As a result of this suit, Weber can no longer claim to be made in America.

Things change, but we believe Weber's commitment to quality and innovation has not.

The biggest barrier for many folks is price. Webers are not cheap, but when you consider that they last decades, the price is easy to justify. In fact, when you consider the fact that some cheap grills fall apart after three years or so, Webers might be considered a bargain.

Our main complaint: All Webers have the obligatory bi-metal dial thermometer in the hood that gives you a ballpark reading of what the temperature is high above the meat. Since we cook on the grates, though, it's always better to bring your own digital thermometer and place a probe there. It would be nice if they would go digital in the digital age and it appears with their acquisition of iGrill digital thermometers, this is begining to change.

*At the very end of 2016 Weber introduced their new line of Genesis II gas grills to replace the popular Genesis series. Genesis II is made in China. Genesis II LX is still made in Palatine, IL.

Weber Electric Grills

Weber has two small portable electric grills in their Q series. Interest in electric grills is growing. One important factor driving sales is the increased number of building code restrictions banning use of any type of fire on apartment and condo decks.

Weber's Q series started out as small, portable gas and electric grills. Many owners found they liked their little Qs both on the go or at home. So Weber added a few larger models and put some of them on small carts. Although Weber's quality and service usually justify their higher prices, there are a lot of mid and large size economy grills in the Q price range. That said if these small to compact cookers fit your size requirements, they are fun and functional with an appealing, modern look.

Q grills have coated, cast aluminum housings, porcelain enameled cast iron grates, stainless steel burners on gas models, electric ignition, removable grease pans and most come with the obligatory heat indicator in the lid. The cast iron grates are split so one side may be removed and replaced with an optional cast iron griddle.

Silver Medal

Q 2400 is the largest Weber electric with 280 square inches of cook surface. It has a dark grey cast aluminum body and glass-reinforced nylon frame. Most electrics have limited upper temp ranges, but many owners report Weber's Q electrics put a pretty good sear on a steak. Weber states their electrics reach 500 degrees, but can get hotter depending on ambient temperature. They attribute this to two interior, aluminum heat retention liners that prevent heat from escaping and promote even temps. Additionally, the conductive properties of coated cast iron grates on all Q models help produce good sear marks. 500 degrees is not what we'd call steak temps, but many owners who switched from a different brand of electric to Weber feel the sizzle is far superior. In 2014 Weber split the cooking grate to accomodate an optional cast iron griddle on one side.

Design of this compact grill makes it manageable for travel, as long as your destination has electricity. It may be used as a table top grill or mounted to a fold out stand with two legs, two wheels and tool hooks.

Six foot grounded cords are standard. If you need an extension cord it must be rated no less than that of the appliance. Extension cords must be marked with the letter “W” and with a tag stating, “Suitable for use with outdoor appliance”. Use the shortest length extension cord possible. Do not connect 2 or more extension cords together. The Q 2400 should be supplied through a grounded GFI outlet. 15 amp minimum.

The Weber Q 2400 Electric Grill was designed with the urban griller in mind, and is ideal for apartment buildings that restrict the use of gas or charcoal grills.

The Weber Q 2400 features a cast aluminum lid and body that keeps heat within the cooking chamber, and a glass reinforced nylon frame that provides a steady base for the grill.

The 1,560 watt electric elements makes cooking burgers, brats, steaks and more easy while the infinite heat control settings allow you to dial in the perfect temperature. Porcealin-enameled casti-iron cooking grates absorb heat and push it into your food giving you grilling marks that are synonomous with gas and charcaol grills.

With 280 inches of cooking space there is enough room to cook thirteen 4" burgers.

Restyled for 2014, the Weber Q 240 is now the Weber Q 2400. The grill has the same great performance and sleek styling, but adds new aesthetics that are both functional and fun, including larger grip handle and control knobs, ergonomic side handles, sturdy front and rear cradles plus the familiar Weber Q logo branded in the lid. The Weber Q 2400 Electric grill raises the bar on flavor expectations and performance of an electric grill. Sear burgers, steaks and chops; grill chicken, fish, vegetables and fruit on the porcelain-enameled cast-iron grates. You’ll be amazed at the authentic grilled taste of foods cooked on this electric grill. The Weber Q 2400 grill is fully featured, yet space-saving and portable – just the ticket for grillers living in condos or any residence where restrictions govern gas and charcoal grill usage. May be used with the 2014 Weber Q Portable Cart model #6557 and Q Cart model #6525. Weber Q 2400 is for outdoor use only.

Weber Q2400 Electric Grill Review

Folks, the Weber Q2400 Grill is the best there is. If there is a Rolls Roy ce of electric grills, it is the Weber Q2400 Grill. All the bells and whistles are here: quality construction, plenty of grill space, and a dependable heating element. If there could be a perfect electric grill, this would be it.

What’s the catch then? Well, the Weber Q2400 Grill is expensive. Expect to pay nearly $300 for this beauty. Is it worth it? That depends on you. Cost versus quality is the great divide in reviews. You get what you pay for.

In this review I will do my best to lay out what makes the Weber Q2400 such a special grill. The Pros of this grill really do make it stand out. However, it does have a few faults. By review’s end, I will attempt to balance quality versus value for the Weber.

Quality, Quality, Quality: A Fantastic Grill

Weber Grills are made in America. It shows, it truly shows. The Weber Q2400 Electric Grill feels like a piece of industrial craftsmanship. Theheavy porcelain cast iron build of this grill can withstand the elements and the test of time. All parts of the grill make sense, nothing seems oddly placed. Expect your Weber Electric Grill to last for years on end.

Feels Like the True Grilling Experience

If a serious grill master ever comes over to my house, and sees a cheaper electric grill model, I am not going to hear the end of it. Grill purists will maintain that fire is required to actually BBQ. That may be true, but the Weber Q2400 Electric Grillprovides such an authentic experience that it feels just natural. Sure, it is electric, but this Weber grill feels manly. From the look of this grill, to the quality of its build, and the taste it delivers to the meat all makes for a great grilling experience. You’ll never feel ashamed about the Weber, it is a point of pride to have a piece of American industrial craftsmanship.

Simple and Straightforward Assembly

You can get this grill built in less than thirty minutes. The grill is lightweight and requires hardly any technical competency. Just unpack the grill and begin assembly. One person can put this grill together without any problem.

No Hotspots, No Charcoal Issues, and No Propane Tanks

Inconsistency is one of the biggest annoyances when it comes to grilling. We live in the age of microwaves and prepared meals. Making a minor mistake in the grilling process can result in a terrible experience of undercooked meat, or a disappointing meal of overcooked meats. Sure, grilling is a science and an art form. If you don’t want to deal with issues that are stupidly infuriating, electric grills are such a quick workaround. The all-around great quality of the Weber Q2400 Electric Grill will erase any and all problems typically associated with bad grilling experiences.

Real Grill Marks, Real Flavor

The Weber Q2400 Electric Grill is not a glorified George Foreman or some kind of griddle. This is a real grill. You’ll be cooking at temperatures above 300°F. Your meats will come out with grill marks that can be a nice brown color, or that lovely black that shows your meat has been grilled. Also, if you want an added smoky flavor, throw some smoker woodchips onto your grilling grates. The woodchips will burn up and release smoke into your grill. Plenty of that smoky flavor and aroma will transfer to whatever it is you are grilling.

Feed a Family of Four

The 280-Square Inches of Cooking Space will feel spacious compared to the far more compact electric grills on the market. Don’t look at the 280 number and think it is small. You’ll be able to grill four huge steaks on this grill with space to spare. Chicken, burgers, hotdogs, fish, ribs, and more can all be cooked on this grill to feed one hungry family.

Entertain Friends at Home or at Tailgates

If all you want to do is cook burgers or dogs, this grill can be a great tool for entertaining. Once again, 280-square inches is not a tiny amount of space. You’ll be limited to about ten burgers at any one time, but that should be plenty for a small to medium size get-together. Even if you have more folks over, just run two rounds of grilling. The Weber heats up quickly, and electricity is super cheap.

Great for Patios and Apartments

Plenty of wooden patios should not be home to a charcoal or gas grill. Almost all apartment complexes forbid charcoal and gas grilling. What’s a guy to do? Get an electric grill. The Weber Electric Grill will give you all the benefits of a grill – easy cooking, grilled flavors, great to entertain with, and is manly. If space is an issue, the Weber Electric Grill has one small footprint and should be able to fit onto any patio without issue.

Simple Cleanup & Maintenance

Cleaning the grilling grate is a simple affair. I would recommend letting your grill cool down, and then wiping the grilling grate and the inside of the grill with damp paper towels. Warm soapy water is best. If your grilling grill is really getting nasty, remove it and soak it in warm soapy water over night, then scrub it down. The drip pan of this Weber Grill is ingenious. Too many electric grills fail in this department. Not the Weber, it is specifically made for using disposable drippings containers that can last a whole grilling season. Grease and fat flows efficiently down to the drip pan.

Long-term Cost Savings

Propane and charcoal cost a whole lot of money for serious grilling fanatics. Hundreds of dollars a year could easily be sunk into propane costs, lighter fluid, and charcoal briquettes. Electricity costs next to nothing in comparison. While the Weber may have a high initial price tag, your long-run savings are going to pay off in the end. The Weber is designed to last.

Lack of Built-in Thermometer

Call it a lack of an extra convenience, but I really believe all electric grills should be extra precise. Without a built-in thermometer, you are going to need your own in order to have absolutely perfect results. I would suggest investing in a digital thermometer if you currently lack one.

Power Cord Too Short

You will only have 6 feet of power cord with the Weber Electric Grill. For me this is enough, but it is a close call. Weber specifically recommends not using an extension cord due to concerns about an electrical fire coming up. Better safe than sorry in my book. The Weber Portable Stand helps with this problem, but be sure to plan accordingly.

Don’t Use this Indoors

Weber doesn’t advertise the Weber Q2400 as an indoor grill. Nevertheless, the temptation to cook indoors always exists with electric grills. Don’t do it! If you cook indoors, the Weber will produce so much smoke that it may set off your fire alarm. Even if your fire alarm doesn’t go off, your home is now going to smell like smoke. Keep the grill outdoors, it can withstand the elements.

Cost: Top of the Line

The biggest hurdle for all shoppers will be the cost. Is the $300 truly worth the price? At the end of the day, it depends. If you are one of those people that like purchasing a quality American product once, and not having to deal with Chinese made junk that breaks down, then the Weber Q2400 Grill is right up your alley. Electric grills are all similar to each other, so the results you’ll get from a $300 electric grill won’t be 3 times better than a $100 electric grill.

Need a Cheaper Grill?

The George Foreman Electric Grill is over $200 cheaper than the Weber Q2400 Grill. You get what you pay for. The George Foreman Electric Grill is made of far cheaper parts, including plastic components. Expect the Weber Grill to last for many years, at least five or more. The George Foreman may last for two or three at best. Even though the George Foreman is lacking compared to the Weber Grill, it still sears meat well and delivers delicious results.

Want an Indoor Grill?

Cooking indoors with the Weber Electric Grill would be foolish. It produces far too much smoke to be used safely. The Delonghi Perfecto Grill has no problem with excessive smoke being produced. If you need a grill to cook indoors during the cooler months, the Delonghi makes a solid choice. Keep it noted though, the Delonghi is far less authentic than the Weber Electric Grill.
