We want you to love what you buy! But if you don’t, we offer a simple “No Hassle Returns” policy. We allow you to return all new, unused, unassembled, and resalable items in their original packaging within 45 days of delivery for a refund (minus the original and return shipping costs incurred by BBQGuys.com). Naturally, if your return is because of our error, you are not responsible for any shipping costs.

• If your return request is due to product defect or damage, we will first work with you to get the product repaired. If repair is not possible, then we’ll work with you to get it replaced.
• If your return will be coming back via freight truck, we will require you to provide us a photo before your return will be authorized. This can be as simple as a cell phone pic! We just need a “before” picture in case there is any damage to the item on its way back to us.
• To expedite the returns process, before shipping the item(s) back, make sure they are clean, the packaging is sufficient to prevent damage, and (if necessary) you note all defects along with the photos taken.

Important information about refund eligibility:

To be eligible for a “No Hassle Return,” items must be returned within 45 days of delivery in “Like New” condition. “Like New” condition is when a returned item is unused, unassembled, and has been returned in the original packaging.

• Full refunds do not apply to certain items, including clearance items, gift cards, gift certificates, items that have been personalized, and items clearly marked as “non-returnable,” such as products sold as “Warehouse Deals.”
• The costs of return shipping are deducted from your refund or merchandise credit.

Custom made-to-order/special order items are made to your specifications. Due to the custom nature of made-to-order/special order items, all sales are final. Made-to-order/special order items defective due to manufacturing will be repaired/replaced as long as the claim is made within the warranty period offered by the manufacturer. Custom pieces damaged in shipping will still follow all steps for a freight claim as previously listed here. All Custom pieces will be repaired or replaced with an item of the same nature as previously ordered. You will not be allowed to order an item that differs from the damaged or defective item.

No, unfortunately this grill is not made for indoor use. Currently we do not have any grills for indoor use. These grills will still produce smoke and grease, because of the drippings that reach the burner and flame tamers. The manufacture does not recommend this grill for indoor usage.

The Weber Q 1400 Electric Grill was designed with the urban griller in mind, and is ideal for apartment buildings that restrict the use of gas or charcoal grills.

The Weber Q 1400 features a cast aluminum lid and body that keeps heat within the cooking chamber, and a glass reinforced nylon frame that provides a steady base for the grill.

The 1,560 watt electric elements makes cooking burgers, brats, steaks and more easy while the infinite heat control settings allow you to dial in the perfect temperature. Porcealin-enameled casti-iron cooking grates absorb heat and push it into your food giving you grilling marks that are synonomous with gas and charcaol grills.

With 189 inches of cooking space there is enough room to cook nine 4" burgers.

The Bottom Line

When exiled to a place where charcoal and gas are forbidden, the griller doesn't have a lot of options other than electricity. The problem is that 120 volts isn't a lot of power to do high-temperature grilling. Well, after some considerable development time Weber produced an electric version of its popular Q line of grills that runs on electricity. Capable of temperatures over 600 degrees F thanks to the efficiency of this design, this grill can sear a steak, heat up quickly and recover its heat even faster after you lift the lid.

While a small grill, if you are limited to electric grills, buy this one.

Expert Review - Weber Q-1400 Electric Grill

The Weber Q grills have become a very popular choice since they were introduced. These portable grills range from the small Q 1000 to the nearly full-sized Q 3000. The combination of the simple design with efficient heat output makes these grills powerful and small. Now Weber has introduced an electric version of the Q grill for those of you confined to locations where gas or charcoal grills are not allowed.

The reason it took so long was solving the problem of low heat output from electric grills because of the limits of 120-volt power. It typically takes a lot of wattage to get a lot of heat, but Weber has managed to design a grill that can hit temperatures over 600 degrees F.

What makes this grill work is the sealed, aluminum insulated design that holds all the heat in and reflects the heat inside at the food you are cooking.

Add the heavy stainless steel cooking grate and you get great contact heat to produce good sear marks on your food.

The two issues that stand out about this grill are a small size and the price. This grill is small because of the heat issue. You can only draw so much wattage so making a larger electric grill is pretty much impossible. This grill is large enough to cook a pair of steaks and maybe four hamburger patties, but that's about it. If you need more food you are going to have to cook in shifts.

This isn't a cheap grill (in either sense of the word). Of course, if you are limited to electric then this is the best grill out there to choose from.

Weber-Stephen was family owned since it was founded in 1952 by George Stephen. At the end of 2010 the Stephen family sold a majority stake to Chicago investment group BDT Capital Partners. In 2012, Weber settled a class action suit out of court regarding their use of the phrase, "Made in USA". Weber previously qualified the "Made in USA" statement by specifying their products are assembled in the USA with some components that are sourced globally. Here is an excerpt from Weber's statement "Weber believes that because all Weber grills and the disputed accessories are designed and engineered in the USA, and all grills save for one line [Spirit]* are manufactured and assembled in the USA using component parts primarily made in the USA, it did nothing wrong and therefore has valid defenses to plaintiff's claims. The court has not held a trial or ruled in favor of either party on any disputed issues. Weber and the plaintiff have agreed to settle the matter to avoid the costs of continued litigation." As a result of this suit, Weber can no longer claim to be made in America.

Things change, but we believe Weber's commitment to quality and innovation has not.

The biggest barrier for many folks is price. Webers are not cheap, but when you consider that they last decades, the price is easy to justify. In fact, when you consider the fact that some cheap grills fall apart after three years or so, Webers might be considered a bargain.

Our main complaint: All Webers have the obligatory bi-metal dial thermometer in the hood that gives you a ballpark reading of what the temperature is high above the meat. Since we cook on the grates, though, it's always better to bring your own digital thermometer and place a probe there. It would be nice if they would go digital in the digital age and it appears with their acquisition of iGrill digital thermometers, this is begining to change.

*At the very end of 2016 Weber introduced their new line of Genesis II gas grills to replace the popular Genesis series. Genesis II is made in China. Genesis II LX is still made in Palatine, IL.

Weber Electric Grills

Weber has two small portable electric grills in their Q series. Interest in electric grills is growing. One important factor driving sales is the increased number of building code restrictions banning use of any type of fire on apartment and condo decks.

Weber's Q series started out as small, portable gas and electric grills. Many owners found they liked their little Qs both on the go or at home. So Weber added a few larger models and put some of them on small carts. Although Weber's quality and service usually justify their higher prices, there are a lot of mid and large size economy grills in the Q price range. That said if these small to compact cookers fit your size requirements, they are fun and functional with an appealing, modern look.

Q grills have coated, cast aluminum housings, porcelain enameled cast iron grates, stainless steel burners on gas models, electric ignition, removable grease pans and most come with the obligatory heat indicator in the lid. The cast iron grates are split so one side may be removed and replaced with an optional cast iron griddle.

Silver Medal

Q 1400 is the smallest Weber electric with 189 square inches of cook surface. It has a dark grey cast aluminum body and glass-reinforced nylon frame. Most electrics have limited upper temp ranges, but many owners report Weber's Q electrics put a pretty good sear on a steak. Weber states their electrics reach 500 degrees, but can get hotter depending on ambient temperature. They attribute this to two interior, aluminum heat retention liners that prevent heat from escaping and promote even temps. Additionally, the conductive properties of coated cast iron grates on all Q models help produce good sear marks. 500 degrees is not what we'd call steak temps, but many owners who switched from a different brand of electric to Weber feel the sizzle is far superior. In 2014 Weber split the cooking grate in two to accomadate an optional cast iron griddle on one side.

This small cooker makes travel easy, as long as your destination has electricity, but obviously limits the amount and size of what can be cooked. It may be used as a table top grill or mounted to a fold out stand with two legs, two wheels and tool hooks.

Six foot grounded cords are standard. If you need an extension cord it must be rated no less than that of the appliance. Extension cords must be marked with the letter “W” and with a tag stating, “Suitable for use with outdoor appliance”. Use the shortest length extension cord possible. Do not connect 2 or more extension cords together. The Q 1400 should be supplied through a grounded GFI outlet. 15 amp minimum.

In 2012, Weber settled a class action suit out of court regarding their use of the phrase, "Made in USA". Weber previously qualified the "Made in USA" statement by specifying their products are assembled in the USA with some components that are sourced globally. Here is an excerpt from Weber's statement "Weber believes that because all Weber grills and the disputed accessories are designed and engineered in the USA, and all grills save for one line [Spirit]* are manufactured and assembled in the USA using component parts primarily made in the USA, it did nothing wrong and therefore has valid defenses to plaintiff's claims. The court has not held a trial or ruled in favor of either party on any disputed issues. Weber and the plaintiff have agreed to settle the matter to avoid the costs of continued litigation." As a result of this suit, Weber can no longer claim to be made in America.

Things change, but we believe Weber's commitment to quality and innovation has not.

The biggest barrier for many folks is price. Webers are not cheap, but when you consider that they last decades, the price is easy to justify. In fact, when you consider the fact that some cheap grills fall apart after three years or so, Webers might be considered a bargain.

Our main complaint: All Webers have the obligatory bi-metal dial thermometer in the hood that gives you a ballpark reading of what the temperature is high above the meat. Since we cook on the grates, though, it's always better to bring your own digital thermometer and place a probe there. It would be nice if they would go digital in the digital age and it appears with their acquisition of iGrill digital thermometers, this is begining to change.

*At the very end of 2016 Weber introduced their new line of Genesis II gas grills to replace the popular Genesis series. Genesis II is made in China. Genesis II LX is still made in Palatine, IL.

Weber Electric Grills

Weber has two small portable electric grills in their Q series. Interest in electric grills is growing. One important factor driving sales is the increased number of building code restrictions banning use of any type of fire on apartment and condo decks.

Weber's Q series started out as small, portable gas and electric grills. Many owners found they liked their little Qs both on the go or at home. So Weber added a few larger models and put some of them on small carts. Although Weber's quality and service usually justify their higher prices, there are a lot of mid and large size economy grills in the Q price range. That said if these small to compact cookers fit your size requirements, they are fun and functional with an appealing, modern look.

Q grills have coated, cast aluminum housings, porcelain enameled cast iron grates, stainless steel burners on gas models, electric ignition, removable grease pans and most come with the obligatory heat indicator in the lid. The cast iron grates are split so one side may be removed and replaced with an optional cast iron griddle.

Silver Medal

Q 1400 is the smallest Weber electric with 189 square inches of cook surface. It has a dark grey cast aluminum body and glass-reinforced nylon frame. Most electrics have limited upper temp ranges, but many owners report Weber's Q electrics put a pretty good sear on a steak. Weber states their electrics reach 500 degrees, but can get hotter depending on ambient temperature. They attribute this to two interior, aluminum heat retention liners that prevent heat from escaping and promote even temps. Additionally, the conductive properties of coated cast iron grates on all Q models help produce good sear marks. 500 degrees is not what we'd call steak temps, but many owners who switched from a different brand of electric to Weber feel the sizzle is far superior. In 2014 Weber split the cooking grate in two to accomadate an optional cast iron griddle on one side.

This small cooker makes travel easy, as long as your destination has electricity, but obviously limits the amount and size of what can be cooked. It may be used as a table top grill or mounted to a fold out stand with two legs, two wheels and tool hooks.

Six foot grounded cords are standard. If you need an extension cord it must be rated no less than that of the appliance. Extension cords must be marked with the letter “W” and with a tag stating, “Suitable for use with outdoor appliance”. Use the shortest length extension cord possible. Do not connect 2 or more extension cords together. The Q 1400 should be supplied through a grounded GFI outlet. 15 amp minimum.
