Weber Spirit E-310 Gas Grill

Weber-Stephen

Weber-Stephen is one of the oldest and most respected manufacturers of BBQ equipment and related accessories in the world. Weber grills and smokers cook beautifully and have great features that are clever, effective and easy to use. As popularity and demand for BBQ gear grows worldwide, Weber continues to earn their long standing reputation for quality, durability and outstanding customer service and support, (7 days a week from 7am to 9pm CST), in an increasingly competitive environment. Even in this crowded marketplace, many consumers are still willing to pay more for the Weber name and they are rarely disappointed. They make a variety of cookers and smokers. Their iconic black charcoal kettles are known throughout the world. Indeed Weber is expanding globally.

Weber-Stephen was family owned since it was founded in 1952 by George Stephen. At the end of 2010 the Stephen family sold a majority stake to Chicago investment group BDT Capital Partners. In 2012, Weber settled a class action suit out of court regarding their use of the phrase, "Made in USA". Weber previously qualified the "Made in USA" statement by specifying their products are assembled in the USA with some components that are sourced globally. Here is an excerpt from Weber's statement "Weber believes that because all Weber grills and the disputed accessories are designed and engineered in the USA, and all grills save for one line [Spirit]* are manufactured and assembled in the USA using component parts primarily made in the USA, it did nothing wrong and therefore has valid defenses to plaintiff's claims. The court has not held a trial or ruled in favor of either party on any disputed issues. Weber and the plaintiff have agreed to settle the matter to avoid the costs of continued litigation." As a result of this suit, Weber can no longer claim to be made in America.

Things change, but we believe Weber's commitment to quality and innovation has not.

The biggest barrier for many folks is price. Webers are not cheap, but when you consider that they last decades, the price is easy to justify. In fact, when you consider the fact that some cheap grills fall apart after three years or so, Webers might be considered a bargain.

Our main complaint: All Webers have the obligatory bi-metal dial thermometer in the hood that gives you a ballpark reading of what the temperature is high above the meat. Since we cook on the grates, though, it's always better to bring your own digital thermometer and place a probe there. It would be nice if they would go digital in the digital age and it appears with their acquisition of iGrill digital thermometers, this is begining to change.

*At the very end of 2016 Weber introduced their new line of Genesis II gas grills to replace the popular Genesis series. Genesis II is made in China. Genesis II LX is still made in Palatine, IL.

Weber Gas Grills

Weber gas grills are simply the gold standard. Designed intelligently with attention to details and built to last, they look good, work beautifully, and almost never break down. If they do, Weber is known for great customer service and for carrying an inventory of parts on models from years gone by. Meathead owned a Genesis for 15-years and can testify from experience.

All their burners are quality stainless steel, have a long life expectancy, and they come with electronic ignitions. The body is heavy. The casters are sturdy and lock solid. Nothing wobbles on Webers. The grease drip pans are easy to access from the front, not the back as with many other grills. Except for the portable/compact Q line, all models hold the propane tank inside the enclosed cart, and can be adapted for natural gas. They have smaller vents in the hood than most gassers which means they retain more heat than grills with more BTUs.

All have inverted V shaped "flavorizer" bars that cover and protect the burners while vaporizing drips and turning them into flavor that gets back up onto the meat. Except for the Q line, all either come with a rotisserie or you can order one as a factory accessory.

Weber gas grills come in four basic flavors, Q, Spirit, Genesis II, and Summit, each with several configurations. Models starting with an "E" are built with Weber's sturdy porcelainized enamel coated steel, and those starting with an "S" are mostly stainless steel.

Addressing an increased interest in outdoor kitchens, in 2011 Weber introduced add on "Island Cabinetry" and "Social Centers", pictured above, to integrate with the Summit lines. These range from matching side tables with enclosed storage to cart mounted side burners, enclosed trash cans and large "Social Areas" that serve as a bar with double door storage underneath. There is also a faux stone island with matching countertops.

Much has been made of 430 and 304 stainless steel: the two most popular grades used by grill manufacturers. Many other inexpensive brands use very thin, low cost 430 stainless to get that shiny showroom floor look. Premium grill makers tout their use of higher quality, higher priced 304 stainless. At some point, Weber decided to switch from 304 to 430. Although 304 is superior, 430 can work just fine if it is a thick gauge like Weber uses, but it is not as durable and one has to expect the life of the grill will be shortened. Will this decision could come back to haunt the castle in Palatine? Only time will tell. Alas, it does not appear Weber's prices were reduced to reflect the cost savings realized with this change.

Weber Spirit Gas Grills

Spirit is Weber's entry level and their least expensive line of gas grills. Made in China, they are the subject of criticism from Weber devotees who have always prized their high quality and American made status. In 2012, however, Weber settled a class action lawsuit that objected to Weber's use of the Made in America label on any of their grills. With the exception of Spirit, Weber maintains that all their products are assembled in America and most components are made in America with some being outsourced globally. As part of the settlement, Weber no longer uses the term "Made in America" for their products.

Regardless, their long standing reputation for quality and customer care remains intact and many people are still willing to pay more for the Weber name. Spirit was completely redesigned in 2013 to bring it closer in in appearance and performance to Weber's mid-line Genesis series.

Spirit comes in three basic flavors: E, S and SP. E series has black porcelain enameled housing, cast iron grates, flavorizer bars and a 430 grade stainless steel work surface. Single door painted metal carts with casters. S includes all E features except the hood and door are stainless steel. SP is the same as S but upgrades the grates to 7 mm stainless rods and adds a side-mounted condiment rack. All models have battery powered ignition.

Gold Medal

Weber's entry level Spirit line was completely redesigned for 2013. Spirit E-310 has three stainless steel burners for a total output of 32,000 BTU. It is the largest Spirit model with 424 square inches primary cooking surface and a 105 square inch warming rack.

A big change for Spirit in 2013 was reconfiguration of the burner layout. Burners used to connect from side to side with control knobs on the right side shelf. The new Spirit burners connect from front to back with control knobs on the front panel. This not only frees up work space on the side shelf, but provides better performance when cooking indirect or 2-zone. Indeed Weber Genesis, Summit and most other manufacturer's gas grills follow this burner design. Also included is Weber's in cart LP tank fuel gauge that gives an approximate indication of fuel level by tank weight.

The E-310 has black porcelain enameled grates, flavorizer bars, housing and single door enclosed carts with a stainless steel work surface. The lightish hood is made of porcelain-enameled steel. The stainless work surface has cast aluminum end caps with built-in tool hooks. It rests on four casters (two locking) and has battery powered ignition.

Spirit was always a very basic, well made, serviceable grill line. The 2013 redesign offers significant upgrades and considerable value. Owners of previous Spirit grills may rub their eyes in disbelief as they behold these new cookers that barely resemble past models. Although Spirit is Weber's entry level price point, it is still more expensive than many other popular grill brands. However, most Spirit owners feel the quality, durability and performance are worth the price.

Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Review for 2017

There are many different ways to cook food and undoubtedly grilling is a favourite for many. There can hardly be anyone who doesn’t like grilled food.

If you thought that grilling is a job that is best left to the professionals, you thought wrong! With the range of great quality grills that are available these days, grilling can be done in the comfort of your own home easily.

One of the most popular grills that is available in the market today is the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill which we will be reviewing in detail below.

Best features of Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill

Grilling is one summer time activity that a lot of people look forward to and grilled food is not only tasty but also wholesome and healthy. However, grilling can become a tedious activity if you don’t own a good quality grill. Luckily, almost all Weber gas grill reviews are on the positive side, with very few people dissatisfied with it. Some of the key features of this particular model of grill is:

  • Cast iron and porcelain enamelled cooking grates: Any cooking expert will vouch for the fact that cast iron cooking equipment gives great colour and sear to anything which is cooked in/on it. At the same time however, cast iron also needs a lot of seasoning before one can cook in it smoothly; else food tends to get stuck on it and then one needs to spend a lot of elbow grease scrubbing and scraping the remnants off.

  • This barbecue is a natural gas unit and you must have natural gas plumbed out to your patio or deck to be able to use this grill; If you do not have natural gas plumbed, please look at our selection of propane barbecues
  • 529 suare inches of total cooking area
  • Porcelain-enameled, cast-iron cooking grates and Flavorizer bars
  • Electronic crossover ignition system starts with the push of a button
  • Assembled dimensions with the lid open 63-inch by 52-inch by 32-inch, Note: This product does not work with propane gas.

In the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill, they have combined the best of both worlds by putting in cast iron grates that are porcelain enamelled. This means that while the grates will retain heat for a longer duration of time, they will tend to be less sticky and will not require as much seasoning as normal cast iron grates. They are also easy to clean and maintain.

  • Porcelain enamelled Flavorizer bars: The signature flavour of grilled food is the smoky flavour that it imbibes from the grilling process. The porcelain enamelled Flavorizer bars that are present in the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill, does this job effectively.

The bars are placed in such a way that the juices and drippings from the food that is being grilled will drip unto them, thereby making them sizzle and smoke up the food, thus imparting that flavour that is quintessential to grilled food.

  • An inbuilt thermometer: It is essential to keep an eye on the grill temperature when using it. The centrally mounted thermometer in the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill makes this job easy as one can tell the temperature of the grill at a glance.
  • Porcelain enamelled steel shroud: The body of the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill looks sleek, modern and stylish thanks to the porcelain enamelled steel shroud that encases it. This shroud also prevents the unit from getting rusted, dented or otherwise damaged in any manner.
  • Space, hooks and provisions for accessories: It is clear that the designers behind the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill have really put in much thought and research into developing this apparatus.

The two stainless steel tables that are present on the side of the main grilling grates stands as proof to the attention to detail that goes into Weber grills. These tables with integrated hooks are excellent for placing plates, tongs, spatulas, brushes and other assorted tools neatly in one place and within easy reach while grilling.

  • 3 Burners: The Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill offers a grilling capacity of 529 square inches with 424 square inches being the primary cooking area and 105 square inches being the warming rack. The even distribution of heat throughout the entire cooking surface is made possible with the help of the 3 stainless steel burners.

This grill gives a 32,000 BTU per hour input. BTU is the abbreviation for British thermal unit, which can be used to judge how fuel efficient the grill is. Grills that run on Propane have lower BTUs but for a natural gas grill, as you can see, the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill works at an optimal rate with very efficient fuel consumption. This is definitely something to consider when purchasing a grill.

  • Flexible hose: The Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill is highly versatile. You can place it in your patio or backyard and connect it to the gas supply with the help of the flexible hose that comes with it, which is 10 foot long.
  • Grease control: One great feature of the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill is its grease management. Certain foods like vegetables or lean cuts of meat tend to release very less grease when grilled. But some meats such as pork can be very fatty and they release a lot of grease when grilled. This can be very inconvenient both while grilling and also afterwards when cleaning the grill once it has cooled down a bit.

The Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill has an innovative grease management system, where the grease is guided away from the burner tubes. The grease tray and the catch pan collect any excess grease and they can be easily removed for a quick clean-up.

Negative points about Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill

Most of the Weber gas grill reviews have only good things to say about it but it is the duty of a well-balanced review to state the downside of the product as well. One of the major cons of the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill is that it runs onlyon natural gas.

As the name indicates the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill will work only if you can hook it up to a natural gas connection. So if you happen to have a propane gas connection in your house then you might not be able to use this grill.

There could be a possible workaround to this problem if you are open to invest some time, effort and money into sourcing a conversion kit and getting a professional to convert the grill for you.

Also do keep in mind that the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill is not a portable grill that you can use on camping trips etc. It is best suited to be used outdoors in your home.

Apart from these disadvantages though, it is hard to find any other bad point about the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill. With so little to complain about, one must admit that the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill is truly one of the best natural gas grills around.

What are the advantages of theWeber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill over its competitors?

Buying a grill can be a little confusing since there are a plethora of options available and the consumer is literally spoilt for choice. It can be somewhat overwhelming to choose the correct grill for you – one that suits your needs and preferences to a T. Hence it is imperative to read genuine reviews and recommendations and also to ask around for the opinions of other grilling enthusiasts.

  • Let’s compare the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill with a few other similar natural gas grills. The Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill weighs about 120 pounds, which is slightly lesser than the Weber Spirit S210 Natural Gas Grill, which weighs 130 pounds approximately.
  • It is also lighter than yet another popular gas grill, the Dyna-Glo DGA480BSN model, which weighs nearly 125 pounds, but it is heavier than the Napoleon Triumph natural gas grill, which only weighs 99 pounds.
  • The Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill is not one of the most compact natural gas grills to be honest. It measures 63 inches x 32 inches x 52 inches as compared to the S210 which measures 2 inches less at 63 inches x 32 inches x 50 inches.
  • The Dyna-Glo one is wider at nearly 53 inches but it makes up for this by being only 46 inches long and 23 inches tall, while the Napoleon Triumph one is even smaller at 45 inches x 50.5 inches x 22 inches.
  • However, please note that the Dyna-Glo model has 4 burners while the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill has 3 burners and the S210 has only 2 burners. On the other hand, the S210 model comes with a side burner which the S310 lacks, that might be disappointing to a few.
  • Despite this factor though it is interesting to note that the S310 still has a larger cooking area. It is 529 square inches as mentioned earlier but it is only 450 square inches in the S210 model – 79 inches lesser than S310!

Unlike some other complicated models of grills, the instructions that come with the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill are detailed, which makes the assembly easy and simple; most people admit that they have been able to set up the grill in a couple of hours’ time. So once you get the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill home, you will be able to start grilling in no time at all!

What’s more, it is easy to obtain any spare parts for this grill as they are readily available and the warranty that is extended by the company also covers most minor hitches if any, that might come up when operating the grill. Plus their customer service is really helpful and they help sort out any issues you have with your grill politely, promptly and patiently.

Natural gas grills are also far more advanced and are a breeze to use when compared to the more traditional charcoal grills which are slowly losing popularity. Don’t forget to clean and store you grill properly after it cools down in order to prolong its lifetime and also to make the next grilling session a quick and hassle-free one.

Should you buy the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill?

The Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill is an ideal choice for small families to use at home for barbecue parties and gatherings. It is efficient and reliable. Although you might be able to find lower priced gas grills, the truth is that Weber has been in the business of manufacturing cooking and grilling equipment for several years now, and they are a name that you can depend on.

  • The Weber Company assures its customers that the performance of their grills is far superior to their competitors.
  • In the long run, the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill will surely turn out to be far more economical and trouble-free than other similar grills that are available in the market today. Grilling should not be a hectic activity where you spend hours sweating and slaving over a hot grill.
  • You should be able to fire up the grill and cook up some scrumptious foods without getting stressed about it and the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill will indeed help you enjoy grilling. If you are looking for a fuss-free, low maintenance and no-nonsense natural gas grill then Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill is the apt choice for you.
  • There are people who consistently buy only Weber grills as they are aware that they are paying for quality. In fact, not surprisingly, even people who have used other brands of natural gas grills before trying the Weber ones have been known to have become instant converts!
  • Low quality grills can cause a lot of problems; they are not durable and do not last long, they are cumbersome to clean, some smoke far too much, can cause burns or fire accidents, some take way too long to heat up and even when they do they distribute heat unevenly thereby causing food also to get cooked unevenly, and some others are just too difficult to handle. Instead of making grilling a smooth and enjoyable experience, bad grills may end up completely putting you off grilling itself.
  • Instead of wasting money on inferior gas grills, go for the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill. If you have been dreaming about owning a grill and hosting your own grilling feast, then don’t hesitate any more. Head over to your nearest home improvement store and pick up a Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill.
  • Go ahead and impress your guests with your grilling skills! You – and not to mention your guests – will certainly not regret it!Once you start using the Weber Spirit E310 Natural Gas Grill you will understand why so many people are impressed by it.

Soon you will also start writing one of those positive weber gas grill reviews!

Grill is very nice. The only negative i have to say about it is the tank is meant to be hung from a hook that helps you gauge the amount of propane left in without lifting it up. getting the tank on the hook and connecting the line is more difficult than it should be

Great Grill - Great Heat Control

I've used all types of grills and smokers over the last 20+ years, and after trying several types of gas, charcoal, and pellet grills, I know this grill was the right choice for me. This grill was purchased to replace the popular pellet grill/smoker that took forever to reach over 400 degrees on a calm day, and it was near impossible to get a good sear on anything. This grill reached 550+ degrees in 15 minutes on the initial burn-in, and it climbed to 600 degrees a short while later.

Very Poor Design

If this was my first Weber Grill..Instead of my second Weber Grill..I Would have NEVER bought it ! The rolling/Locking casters set all the way inside that you can't even see them..Let alone use them. The gas bottle sets just under the burners..So it is very easy to burn yourself turning of the gas & is hard to install. There is NO holders for salt/pepper shakers. A Flimsy front cover instead of a door.

Caveat Buyer!

I had a Spirit E310 for 7 years before it rusted out. While this one fires up nicely, its grills are a bit harder to clean with their new configuration, and this new model makes installation of the propane tank MUCH more difficult than it was with the outside mount on the older model.

(2) Turn the cylinder 180 degrees so the lifting handle faces the back of the enclosed compartment.

(3) Try to lift the cylinder by the (uncomfortable) left-hand slot and hang the right-hand slot on the cylinder scale. (OR: Give up, and forgo the weight scale.)

(4) Swing cylinder lock down and tighten wing nut (or not.)

(5) Connect the regulator to the cylinder valve.

(6) Take a Tylenol for back pain.

WOW! What a Grill!

After owning and disposing of several lesser quality "big box store" gas grills, Weber stands alone on all the criteria by which I judge grills. Among the lower criteria is ease of relocation. This grill rolls easily and locks in place securely. The igniter is battery powered, solidly constructed, operates quietly, works every time. The gas knobs operate smoothly, the heat scale is legible, and the design on the knobs makes for accurate setting. Construction is of heavy guage enameled metal, it feels solid. Storage below the grill is easily accessible and allows for mounting the gas tank in a traditional well or hanging it on a meter that shows fullness. The interior of the grill is uncluttered, the design is simple, easy to clean and has no cheap metal elements to rust away. The drippings tray is removeable for easy cleaning and funnels drippings into a disposable aluminum tray. The stainless steel gas tubes are solidly constructed, are guaranteed for 10 years, and distribute heat evenly. The flavor bars are heavy guage enameled steel that will not rust away prematurely. My grill has seasoned cast iron grilling grates that offer two different surfaces - flat or V-shaped and distribute heat evenly - I love cast iron cookware. Just need to be careful about dropping them. Heat distribution throughout the interior is exceptionally even and the thermometer is accurate. This is a superior grill and well worth the price. Cost is what kept me from purchasing a Weber grill earlier because I didn't look closely at how much value there is compared to cheaper ones.

Weber Spirit E310 Review

46510001 Spirit E310

Our Rating:

Weber is a manufacturer of quality grills and have been making them for years. Based in America, you’ll also be buying a grill with great customer support.

I’d been testing the E310 during my Weber grill shootout. It scored highly in that test so I wanted to give it a more thorough review.

The E310 comes with a 3-burner setup and 424 square inches if cooking space. It also comes with another 105 square inches of “warming space”, a great feature for cooks who can never get their timings right!

If you don’t think you’ll use all three burners, there’s also a 2-burner model that’s quite a bit smaller – perfect for small patios and yards.

A temperature gauge is located on the hood of the grill and it also comes with a pretty neat fuel gauge to tell you when to change bottles.

The two burner model costs £400, and you’ll need to add another $100 to upgrade to the 3-burner version.

Setting It Up

Both models come with a superb set of instructions and it should take too long to figure out how everything goes together. The E310 is a pretty traditional gas grill, so there’s no strange fitments or features to scratch your head over.

Even if you do run into trouble, Weber has awesome USA based customer service so you’ll never be too far away from help.

The E310 weighs 114 pounds for the 2-burner model and 130 for the 3-burner. This is obviously ignoring the gas cylinder, add another 5-10 pounds for a full canister.

It’s not difficult to move around thanks to a decent set of wheels underneath the grill. These are quite small though, so you’ll need to be careful over uneven ground.

In Use

One of the things that Weber impressed me with on the E310 is the temperature control. The dials have a very fine gradient, which means you’ll have quite a degree of control over everything.

Weber state a temperature range of 180 degrees right up to 300+ degrees. As this is a gas grill I can’t see why it shouldn’t be able to shoot right past the 300 mark, especially the 3-burner model.

As is common to all gas grills, the E310 has an electronic ignition system and since we’re talking about a Weber, it should give many years of trouble free use.

It’s worth pointing out that the cooking space isn’t the same for the 2 and 3-burner versions. The 2-burner comes with 360 square inches of cooking space and a 90-inch warming zone, whilst the 3-burner version boasts 424 and 105 inches respectively.

I tested the full 3-burner model and the cooking space was very generous. I could see myself easily catering for 10-15 people with ease. Perhaps you’ll need to dial that back to 10 if you opt for the 2-burner model.

To give the grill a good test, I cooked ribs and burgers. When I tested this grill a few weeks back, I added sausages to the mix too; this review was a family only affair so I needed less food.

The gas grill really pumps out the heat, so you should be able to cookout efficiently and keep the food flowing easily. The side tables are of a decent size, and to allow a bit of freedom to prepare some foods before placing them on the grill.

One thing that always pleases me with Weber grills, is the stainless steel and porcelain coated exterior of all their grills. The E310 is no different in that respect, and it was a joy to use. The gas system is also easy to use and probably a safe bet if you don’t grill outside that much.

Portability

The 3-burner model is too big to be carrying about, so I’ll park that review for now. However, the 2-burner grill just about hits that 100 pounds’ limit where you’ll be able to move this on your own.

The wheels are good, and as you’d expect from Weber, there’s plenty of handles to allow you to shuffle the grill along.

As the E310 is at the upper limit (over if we’re being pedantic) of the 100 pounds’ limit, you won’t want to move this grill over uneven ground or boggy grass.

In an ideal situation, you’ll want to roll this grill from your garage, to the patio and back again – no more.

I really like Weber and their range of gas grills. They do a decent job and all will give your meat that all important “grill mark”. The build quality is superb and I couldn’t find fault with the fit and finish of the unit.

Gas control is as easy to setup as you’d expect, plus the temperature gauge is quick to react and let you know what’s really going on inside the cooking area.

There’s not that must price difference between the 2 and 3-burner models. At $100, you can pretty much make your decision based on what you’ll be doing with your grill. The 2 burner is perfectly acceptable, and has all the same features of the 3-burner – save for burners and a decrease in cooking space.

The 2-burner model could be a great buy if you’re looking to a grill in a confined yard or patio area. I looked at the two-burner model myself and it’s a slim design.

The only negative I can come up with is the overall price. At $400 – $500, it’s obviously much more than grills from Char Griller or Dyna Glo. The only thing I can say about the price is that it comes down to how much grilling you do. If you only grill a handful of times a year, you’ll likely find the Weber a waste of money. However, if you spend lots of time eating outside and want a grill that you’ll get plenty of use from, it makes sense to get one that will serve you well.

The E310 is all that and more!

Weber Spirit E-310 Gas Grill

The basic 3-burner Spirit Gas Grill from Weber runs around $600USD and offers little more than a cookout, but is it worth it. The Spirit line gas grills are made in China by Weber, use inferior stainless steel, and are very basic. So why is this better than the same sized and featured grill at most any store for half the price? Good question. I would argue that this grill is better built than those and that Weber's warranty and support are much better.

Aside from this, it really is a very close call.

  • Lower grades of stainless steel throughout
  • Very basic grill for the price

Guide Review - Weber Spirit E-310 Gas Grill

For nearly 30 years, Weber has made some of the best and best-respected gas grills in their price ranges. Carving out the space between the hardware store bargain grills and the high-end appliance store units, Weber has been comfortable in its space. A few years ago, Weber reintroduced their Spirit line of grills to widen their market share.

For 2013, the Spirit grills were redesigned to bring them into line with Weber's accessories and Genesis grills.

The Spirit E-310 is the heart of this line. Larger and more versatile than the 2-burner versions and without the unnecessary stainless steel body parts of the S-series or the potentially unneeded side burner of the E-320, this is the basic grill that Spirit represents.

This 3-burner unit has enough cooking space to accommodate most families, porcelain coated cast iron cooking grates that are heavy enough to create grill marks, and a basic set of Weber extras like a tank gauge to help you not run out of gas.

The big question about this gas grill is whether or not it is worth the price. At around $600USD, there are a number of grills that are cheaper. Like those grills, this one is made in China and uses lower grade stainless steel for its burners and other components. I have to answer that I do believe it to be worth the investment provided that it is taken care of and used. When I look through my database of grills, this one does, in fact, stand out as a good grill.

This grill had one flaw that prevents me from purchasing. Went to local ace hardware today to purchase, and learned that the tank sits on the ground. So the sale was lost. Best Grill I've Owned

I have owned 3 propane grills previously including a Charbroil and a newer Ducane, not the older more durable ones. I was concerned about two main features when evaluating grills this go around: evenness of heat on grill surface and durability of the cook box.

None of my prior grills compare to the evenness of the heat on this grill. I was worried about evenness of heat since you cannot really test this at the store. In grilling a dozen times or so I do not find any hot/cold spots on the grill grates. This allows me to maximize my space and grill as much food as I could on my old 3 burner grill where I had to place food in strategic places for hot/cold spot. No more reorganizing food every time I flip it to get even levels of doneness.

As for durability, the Weber is the only brand that I could find in the sub $1,000 price range with a cast aluminum cook box. Trust me, invest in this if you want a grill to last more than 7 years. Each of my previous grills have failed due to rusting out the sheet metal cook box. That is why the cast aluminum cook box is vital to the durability. We all know in 5-7 years you are going to replace the burners and flavor bars etc. if you want to keep the grill operating well. But the cook box is not something you can or want to replace due to cost and size. If the cook box fails, you are buying a whole new grill. As a final thought, at least when a burner or grill grate fails with a Weber you can always find a replacement. Not so much with a Charbroil or most other brands.

I love my little Weber!

I've just down-sized from a house with a built-in grill - which I never used. Too big, too hard to clean, too inconvenient from the kitchen. This little grill sits right outside my kitchen door, starts right up when I want it, heats quickly and does a super job. My son and I put it together in about an hour and were impressed by how well engineered it was - pieces fit exactly as they were supposed to, all the parts were there and clearly labeled, instructions were clearly written. Everything worked (even the often-glitchy starter), and we've been using it almost nightly for two weeks now. It's just perfect, and I'm so glad I bought it!

I had bought a big grill which rotted out after only 5 years - it was not a Weber - so I decided to go back to a Weber and am extremely happy with this one. It heats up fast, easy to start and best part is that I put it together all by myself and then had steaks that night.

Best grill I've ever owned.

At just one month and a very rainy Spring I haven't had many opportunities to use my new Weber Grill. But so far it's turning out to be the best I've ever owned. Weber grills are not cheap but this product seems to deliver excellent performance and ease of use for the mony. The electronic spark lights instantly and pre-heat is rapid. Temperature recovery when the top is opened or food added is rapid. The built-in thermometer is a plus. Drop-down side tables of both sides will make winter storage easier. The built-in tank scale may be a bit difficult to load but at least provides propane supply information. Overall build quality seems quite good. My grill had been pre-assembled by my Ace Hardware so I am unable to comment easy of assembly. With a little care I think this product will provide years of service and I'm confident repair parts will be available if necessary.

Love this grill so far, cooks great. The only issue I have is that the standard propane tank sits directly on the deck/floor and the grill is on wheels, so the grill can't be moved with the tank underneath. Maybe I need a bigger tank, not sure. First time griller.

Our Simple Shipping Policy does not apply to items that require you to call for pricing, as these sometimes require special delivery considerations.

45 Day No Hassle Returns

We want you to love what you buy! But if you don’t, we offer a simple “No Hassle Returns” policy. We allow you to return all new, unused, unassembled, and resalable items in their original packaging within 45 days of delivery for a refund (minus the original and return shipping costs incurred by BBQGuys.com). Naturally, if your return is because of our error, you are not responsible for any shipping costs.

  • If your return request is due to product defect or damage, we will first work with you to get the product repaired. If repair is not possible, then we’ll work with you to get it replaced.
  • If your return will be coming back via freight truck, we will require you to provide us a photo before your return will be authorized. This can be as simple as a cell phone pic! We just need a “before” picture in case there is any damage to the item on its way back to us.
  • To expedite the returns process, before shipping the item(s) back, make sure they are clean, the packaging is sufficient to prevent damage, and (if necessary) you note all defects along with the photos taken.

Important information about refund eligibility:

To be eligible for a “No Hassle Return,” items must be returned within 45 days of delivery in “Like New” condition. “Like New” condition is when a returned item is unused, unassembled, and has been returned in the original packaging.

  • Full refunds do not apply to certain items, including clearance items, gift cards, gift certificates, items that have been personalized, and items clearly marked as “non-returnable,” such as products sold as “Warehouse Deals.”
  • The costs of return shipping are deducted from your refund or merchandise credit.
  • In many cases, refunds are not processed until the item has been inspected by us in our warehouse.
  • Refunds must be applied to the same credit card, debit card, or other form of payment used in the original transaction.
  • In many cases, refunds are not processed until the item is inspected upon return delivery.
  • BBQGuys.com reserves the right to refuse a refund on a returned item if:
    • The item that has been returned does not match the original item shipped to the customer.
    • The returned item is missing parts or the original product’s packaging.
    • The item was damaged during the return shipment due to improper or insufficient packaging.
    • The item being returned has been obviously heavily used (such as significant charcoal buildup inside a grill).
    • The item has been assembled in a way that would impede proper packaging for return shipping.

In exchange situations, there are TWO options:

  1. If you need the product right away, you can purchase a replacement on a new order to get it shipped out as soon as possible. Then return the original item and we’ll refund you for the original once we’ve received it back to our warehouse in “Like New” condition.
  2. If you can wait a little longer, return the original item and once we’ve received it back to our warehouse in “Like New” condition, we’ll refund you for that purchase, then have you purchase the replacement on a new order and we’ll ship the replacement as soon as possible.

Custom made-to-order/special order items are made to your specifications. Due to the custom nature of made-to-order/special order items, all sales are final. Made-to-order/special order items defective due to manufacturing will be repaired/replaced as long as the claim is made within the warranty period offered by the manufacturer. Custom pieces damaged in shipping will still follow all steps for a freight claim as previously listed here. All Custom pieces will be repaired or replaced with an item of the same nature as previously ordered. You will not be allowed to order an item that differs from the damaged or defective item.

Feel free to use our simple online form to obtain a Returns Authorization Number (also known as an RMA number) and let us walk you through our 45 Day No Hassle Returns process.

Weber Genesis II Gas Grill Expert Review

Iconic brand; good value; available in black, smoke, crimson, and copper; outstanding service & warranty.

Weber Genesis gas grills are among the most popular grills in the world. The Genesis II series offers well-built gas grills at an affordable price point. I love that these grills are available in several colors to fit anyone's taste, and are available in 2,3,4, or 6 burners models. The grill features an open cart design with bottom shelf that makes access to storage easy. The Genesis II also saves you valuable storage space with its propane tank storage area, located under the right side shelf, which allows you to connect and mount your propane tank underneath the side shelf. The tank mount features a handy gauge which allows you to monitor your fuel level.

The tried and true Weber Cooking System is great at providing even heat distribution and minimizing flare ups. The Genesis II features porcelain-enameled cast iron cooking grids that have notches cut out towards the front, allowing you to easily see whether each burner is lit. The grill also has a tuck-away warming rack, providing you with an additional 198-inches of cooking space when you need it. Under the grids lies the triangular-shaped Flavorizer Bars that sit directly above the burners. These shield the burners by catching drippings and turning them into smoke, adding flavor back into your food. Weber pioneered the Flavorizer Bar in 1984, and since then they've proven to do their job extremely well, which is why they're still preventing flare-ups on all Weber gas grills today!

The Genesis II is powered by stainless steel burners that get narrower towards the back of the grill. Since most grills get hotter towards the back side of the grill, this reduces that heat, producing a more consistent heat across the cooking surface. The burners are lit by a reliable push button electronic ignition and produce around 12,000 BTUs per burner.

With over 50 years in business, Weber customer service is as good as it gets. They have a 10 year warranty on the grill body and on the burners. They have reputable service and quickly handle any service or replacement part situations.

The Weber Genesis II does not score well for high heat due to a low maximum BTU output, when compared to other grills in the same class. Additionally, the porcelain-coated grates and Flavorizer Bars are not as durable compared to stainless components found on other grills, like the Genesis II Special Edition or the Genesis II LX.

You want a stylish, affordable, and popular gas grill from the most popular BBQ brand, Weber.

I have been ordering from BBQ Guys around 5 years - they have consistently provided wonderful service and the people on the phones have always been warm, friendly and patient - I mostly order online but every now and then you need a live person and these folks are the best - totally 5 STARS!

We have been working with BBQ Guys to finish our new outdoor kitchen. Seda did great work explaining everything to us and helping us select just the right equipment at just the right price. He is a real credit to your business.

I ordered an outdoor refrigerator and a Primo XL cooker from the BBQGuys online store. The prices were very competitive. I was pleased with the communications and prompt processing of the order. Both arrived via freight carrier. The firebox on the Primo cooker was broken. The customer service was great and the firebox was replaced quickly. I highly recommend BBQGuys. I will be shopping with them again.

Completely happy with the products I have purchased through BBQGuys. While one of the appliances I ordered did stop working within a years time Kimberly in customer care took control of my issue in a prompt, friendly and professional manner replacing the appliance without any frustration or hardship on my part. Easy and actually painless as my expectation was, when I started the process, that I was going to be in for a long drawn out ordeal. With the quality of products they sell and the customer care they offer I will always make BBQGuys my number one choice of outdoor kitchen appliances.

I would highly recommend using BBGuys.com to purchase a bbq. Dominic was very helpful in finding the right size grill to fit my needs. He was great in keeping in touch with me through the process. I would recommend calling if you have any questions as Dominic assisted me through the entire process.
